Q: What is GetRockedOut.com?

A: So basically GetRockedOut.com was a site written years ago in the inspiration of helping the Blacksburg music scene. Today the site still survives.

The site is basically controlled by the people who use it. As a user, you can add shows, bands, or venues so that people know whats going on.

Q: How do I change my password after I receive it via email?

A: This is not obvious and in time we'll make it easier. But for now- Login to the discussion board. Go to My Profile. Then Edit Profile. You can make changes here and save them.

Q: The site loads too slow for my computer to handle

A: Use the alternate version of the site and bookmark it. This is

Q: I lost my password, how do I get a new one?

A: Go to discussion, go to log in, you will see a form to enter your email. Make sure it is the same one that you supplied for your getrockedout account, and you will be sent a new password.

Q: Why didn't I receive my password via email?

A: The ONLY reason you will not receive a password is if you enter an invalid email address. Your password should arrive almost instantaneously otherwise.

UPDATE: Some servers (radford.edu in particular) blocks mail from getrockedout.com. This mail bounces to the admin, who will then forward the message to you. If this is the case it may take a day or two to receive your password.

Q: How do I get my flyer posted on the homepage?

You can upload your flyer through the flyers section of the homepage. Please make sure it is a high res jpg of the flyer and I will scale it down to size. Please put getrockedout.com somewhere on the flyer. That is all I ask.

Q: How do I add a show/band/venue?

A: Just go to the contribute section and login. If you are not a member, you can create an acount and a password will be mailed to you. Once you are logged in, you can click add/edit shows to bring up a special calendar. Click a plus sign on the date you want to add a show. If you created a show, you can click it on this calendar, and then edit or delete it. You will not be able to edit/delete things that another user has added.

Q: How often is the mailing list sent out?
